Biographical Information

Freddy Uzcátegui was third baseman on the Ecuadorian national team that won the 1963 South American Championship, their first title. Some sources list him on their 1966 South American Championship team but some don't. He injured his arm in 1967, ending his playing career. He later managed in Ecuador, scouted for the Milwaukee Brewers and was president of the Federación Ecuatoriana de Béisbol and Confederación Sudamericana de Béisbol.
