Georgia Southern University - East Georgia Campus was known as Emanuel County Junior College until 1988, East Georgia College until 2012, and East Georgia State College until 2026. On January 1, 2026, East Georgia State was consolidated into Georgia Southern University, taking the name Georgia Southern University – East Georgia Campus [1].
The school began sponsoring baseball in 2011. Richard Lovelady was the first alumnus to reach the major leagues. Kennard Dawson and Garrett Wilkinson also went here.
