Biographical Information[edit]
Christophe Hérard played in the Division Elite and for the French national team.
He was one of the founders of the Montigny Cougars. [1] In the 1994 Baseball World Cup, he was 0 for 3, backing up Jamel Boutagra at catcher. [2] He went 2 for 3 with a run in the 1995 European Championship, again backing up Boutagra. [3] As of 9/2/25, the first season for which domestic stats are available is 1999, when the 28-year-old hit .264/.366/.481 for the Cougars. [4] (all French stats listed are from this source)
Hérard hit .386/.446/.693 for the 2000 Cougars, with 30 runs and 34 RBI in 25 games, going deep 7 times. He led the team in homers and RBI. He broke David Meurant's team record for homers. [5] During 2001, he fell to .273/.339/.455 then .222/.318/.344 in 2002. His next appearance in France's top league was 2009; by this time, he had also served as the team's president. [6] The 38-year-old was 7 for 31 with 2 doubles, a homer, 3 runs, 8 RBI and 5 walks.
The veteran took over the managerial reins for 2010. [7] He still played a bit, hitting .241/.359/.315. He struck out in his lone at-bat in 2011 and finished his career in the French minors in '12, at .375/.483/.417.
