Alderson Broaddus University, known as Alderson-Broaddus College until 2013, was formed in 1932 by the union of two Baptist institutions: Alderson Academy and Broaddus College. Both Alderson and Broaddus were charter members of the WVIAC in 1924. Randy Dobnak was the first major leaguer from the school. The school ceased operations in August 2023.
