Santana vs Twins

Posted by Andy on June 26, 2010

I see that Johan Santana is getting hit hard by the Twins. This is his first career appearance against the team he spent the majority of his career with. I'm not sure how often the Mets and Twins have met in the last few years but I'm surprised Santana hasn't faced them before.

What pitcher holds the record for appearing in the most games (intra-league only) without facing all possible clubs?

  2. JWL Says:

I believe the last Twins-Mets series came in 2007 and that Santana picked up a win against the Mets.

So Prince harry is going to go back to the UK and tell everyone that Carl Pavano is a better pitcher than Johan Santana

Well, this season at least, Pavano has been the better pitcher. Johan is clearly not at 100% coming off the elbow surgery. Until he gets his velocity back, he's going to continue to be susceptible to getting hit hard like this. This is four starts in a row now that he's given up four or more runs.

Of course, Johan had the exact same surgery after the 2003 season, and struggled mightily during the first couple months of '04. We all know what he did the rest of the way once he was at full strength.

Wow, what an insightful post, Andy. If only there were some way to quickly and easily determine how many times the Mets and Twins have played over the last few years.

Well being a full time dad doesn't always leave me enough time to research things. My post was done remotely.
Something tells me if this were a positive post about the Mets, you wouldn't sound so annoyed.
