I'm a little bit surprised just how awful all of these performances were. There is nobody on there with good numbers over their entire streak. I mean, no strikeouts is bad, but every starter has a few games in his career with low K totals that were still well-pitched games.

Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat.
Abbott, in those six games, didn't strike out anybody, gave up 7 HR in 23 2/3 IP, and a 6.46 ERA. BUT he only walked three guys, went 2-1, and his team went 4-2 in the six starts.
BUT (again), you do have to consider he was pitching for the 1984 Tigers, which were the greatest AL team of a generation. If it weren't for Abbott, maybe they'd have won even more games?

So, in 1958, Stan Williams had 4 straight starts in which he failed to last more than one inning. Maybe it's worth having a look to see whether that's any kind of a record.

Oops, scratch that last comment, I didn't see that the topic was just covered in a previous sotd.
