Vince hit .289, second-highest among the regulars. The young George Davis, who also played outfield on the team, hit .264 at age 19. Another player on the team, the young Cy Young, was two years younger than Vince.
His minor league playing career stretched from at least 1887 to 1897. That was in spite of the fact that it was reported in January 1896 that he had his right hand cut off in a saw mill - the following month he denied the incident.
After baseball he was a policeman and worked for a railroad.
The press often referred to him as Vincent Daily.
