Biographical Information[edit]

Stephan Vidal has played in the minors and for the Curaçao national team.

He hit .287/.383/.404 as a freshman at NCMC and .259/.355/.407 as a sophomore. [1] Transferring to Jackson State, he batted .264/.335/.411 his junior year and .335/.449/.527 with 43 runs in 49 games as a senior. He was then signed as an undrafted free agent by Kansas City Royals scout Travis Ezi. [2] He hit .286/.375/.310 for the AZL Royals that summer. In 2019, he played for the Idaho Falls Chukars (.222/.300/.403 in 20 G) and Wilmington Blue Rocks (1 for 8), ending his time in the Royals chain.

When Curaçao won the 2021 Caribbean Baseball Cup, he hit .500/.583/.900 with 7 runs and 10 RBI in 4 games, including two doubles and two runs in their 4-3 win over Cuba in the finale. He was one run behind co-leaders Aldair Daal and Santiago Torres and two RBI shy of leader Pavel Quesada. [3] He was 3-for-15 with a walk and a double in the 2022 Haarlem Baseball Week, striking out 8 times to tie Yohandy Morales and Dylan Crews for the most K. He also led with six steals allowed, throwing out one runner. [4]

Curaçao made the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games, their first Central American and Caribbean Games (they had been part of some Netherlands Antilles national teams in the past before becoming an independent entity). He was their first catcher in a CACG, striking out El Salvador's Nelson Alfaro his first time up. He finished the event 1-for-6 with a double, steal, two runs and a RBI, handling 14 chances error-free and throwing out both runners who tried to steal. His hit was off Héctor Martínez. He tied Andrys Pérez and Carlos Paulino for most runners thrown out stealing despite playing a third as many games as those two. [5] He went 2-for-7 with two walks, a homer, three runs and three RBI during the 2023 Caribbean Baseball Cup. [6]
