Biographical Information[edit]

Ryosuke Oguma pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 9 years.

Oguma was drafted by the Chunichi Dragons in the 6th round of the 2008 NPB draft, and he spent most of his first four seasons in the NPB Farm Leagues. He only got 7 appearances combined for the top team, and he also led the Western League with 16 saves in 2012. Oguma recorded a 2.30 ERA in 28 appearances in 2013, but he only pitched 2 games for the big club in 2014. He then went 1-1 with a 4.07 ERA in 2015, and he improved to 5-2 with a 2.80 ERA in 2016. He completed a Maddux on April 6, and it was his first and only shutout. Oguma slumped to 0-3 with a 9.53 ERA in 2017, and he had a 3-4 record with a 6.23 ERA in 2018. His ERA was 3.45 in 14 relief outings in 2019, but he failed to return to the big club in 2020 and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Oguma was 12-13 with a 5.03 ERA, struck out 137 and pitched 213 innings in 9 seasons in NPB.
