Leonardo D'Amico pitched five seasons in the minors then went to Italy to play. He is the brother of Yovany D'Amico.
D'Amico debuted for La Pradera in the Venezuelan Summer League in 1999, going 4-2 but with a 5.90 ERA. In 2000, he was 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA for the Butte Copper Kings. He split 2001 between the Provo Angels (1-0, 2 R in 2 IP) and the AZL Angels (0-6, 5.17). He tied Ryan Burnau for the Arizona League lead in defeats.
Leonardo improved his ERA for the third straight season with the 2002 Provo club, going 3-0 with a 3.57 ERA, finishing 7th in the Pioneer League in ERA. In '03, D'Amico pitched for the AZL Angels (0 R in 1 1/3 IP), Cedar Rapids Kernels (1-2, Sv, 5.90) and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (0-1, 7 R in 9 IP). He had gone 9-14 in the minors.
D'Amico came to Italy in 2005 with the Warriors Paternò, going 1-5 with a save and a 4.43 ERA. In 2006, he went 2-5 with a 3.41 ERA for Telemarket Rimini and was 0-2 in the postseason. He was 1-2 with 3 saves and a 4.82 ERA for the Grosseto Orioles in 2008 to fall to 4-14 in his Italian career.
D'Amico returned to the Warriors for 2010.
