Biographical Information[edit]
After several cups of coffee in the majors, catcher Joe Stephenson went on to be a big league scout, with Fred Lynn and Brady Anderson among his notable discoveries. He also signed Steve Barr, Steve Ellsworth and Bob Parkins.
He is the father of Jerry Stephenson and grandfather of Brian Stephenson. Joe's great-grandson Dominic Smaldino, played baseball at the University of California and Arizona State University.
