Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Jim Hickey was selected by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round of the 1983 amateur draft. He played 8 seasons in the minors.

Hickey became a coach in the Houston Astros organization in 1991. He was the pitching coach for the New Orleans Zephyrs from 1998-2004. In July 2004, he became pitching coach for the Astros, a job he held for 2 1/2 seasons, until the 2006 season. In 2007, he became the Tampa Bay Devil Rays pitching coach.
