Biographical Information[edit]

Dave Campbell pitched in the majors for the Atlanta Braves. He is not to be confused with the other Dave Campbell, who also spent most of his major league playing career in the National League in the 1970s.

Campbell was born in Princeton, IN, also the birthplace of Gil Hodges.

With the Braves, Campbell was a year younger than teammates Jeff Burroughs and Gary Matthews.

Dave led the 1978 Braves in pitching appearances in his last major league season. He was traded to the Montreal Expos in return for IF Pepe Frias prior to the 1979 season but could not find a slot in the Expos' pitching staff, as the team was extremely strong on the mound that season.
