Biographical Information[edit]

Daniel Padyšák has pitched in the Extraliga and for the Czech national team.

He debuted in the Extraliga in 2016 with Kotlářka Praha, pitching 3 shutout innings (2 H, 1 BB, 1 K) and getting a win. [1] In the 2016 European Junior Championship, he was 0-1 with a 11.25 ERA in 3 games, losing to Germany. He went 2 for 4 with a walk, run and three RBI at the plate. [2]

Padyšák had a 2-2, 2.95 record for Kotlářka Praha in '17 and hit .194/.275/.208. He pitched 3 2/3 shutout innings over 3 games in the 2017 European U23 Championship, with a walk, run and RBI. [3] During the 2018 campaign, he batted .193/.333/.228 and was 1-2 with a save and a 3.72 ERA in the Extraliga.

He played for the Czechs in the 2018 European U18 Championship, with a 5.00 ERA and no decisions in two starts; he hit .125/.417/.125 with 4 walks and 4 runs in 4 games. [4] In the 2018 Super6, he debuted for the senior national team at age 18. He got into one game, a 25-10 loss to Italy, and struggled. He relieved Ondřej Satoria in the 3rd with his team already down, 13-3. Former major leaguers Alex Liddi and Chris Colabello greeted him with singles. After Giuseppe Mazzanti lined out, Robel Garcia walked and Alberto Mineo hit a sacrifice fly. Mattia Reginato flew out. That would be the best inning of the day by a Czech pitcher. After the Czechs closed it to 14-7, things unraveled in the 4th. Nicola Garbella walked on a full count and Drew Maggi tripled him in, then scored on an error on the play. Alessandro Vaglio walked. Padyšák got Liddi to fly out, but Colabello hit a two-run homer. Mazzanti flew out but Garcia walked again and Beau Maggi had a pinch-hit single. Jiří Vavruša relieved and let both inherited runners score. He still did not have the highest Czech staff despite that; his 37.80 was better than the 54.00 by Boris Bokaj and Tomáš Duffek. [5]

He made the World Select Team for the Arizona Fall Showcase, an event highlighting top amateur prospects; Lukáš Hlouch was the other Czech player chosen. [6]
