Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Kite played in the minor leagues and for the USA national baseball team.
Kite represented the USA in the 1987 Intercontinental Cup. The Boston Red Sox picked him in the 4th round of the 1988 Amateur Draft, and he went 3-3 with a 3.18 ERA for the Elmira Pioneers in 1988. Kite was 4-9 with a 4.11 ERA for the Winter Haven Red Sox in 1989, and he slumped to 1-10 with a 7.57 ERA in 1990. He pitched a no-hitter against the Dunedin Blue Jays on July 25, 1989. Kite had a 4.74 ERA with a 3-2 record in 29 appearances in 1991, and his professional career ended. He later became a realtor in Pittsburgh's North Hills suburbs.
