Biographical Information[edit]

Chiu-Yen Kuo has played in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.

Kuo served in Taiwan's Marines after high school. He was picked by the Lamigo Monkeys in the 4th round of the 2012 draft. He was a teammate of his brother Yong-Wei Kuo with Lamigo in 2013, the fourth set of brother teammates in CPBL history. He struck out against Tyler Lumsden in his first at-bat, got his first hit off En-Yu Lin and his first homer off Chen-Hua Lin. He batted .314/.342/.368 in 60 games, fielding .950 at SS (36 G) and .935 at 2B (25 G). He would have tied Yung-Chi Chen for 7th in the league in average had he qualified. He won Rookie of the Year for his efforts.
