Biographical Information[edit]

Carlos Torres has been an umpire.

Torres began in the Gulf Coast League in 2009 and moved up to the New York-Penn League and Carolina League in 2010, the South Atlantic League in 2011, Southern League in 2012 and the International League from 2013-2015. On July 17, 2015, he was a MLB call-up umpire for a game, becoming the second Venezuelan to work a MLB game, following Manny Gonzalez by five years. He worked 19 games in the majors that season.

Carlos worked the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. In 2017, he was one of four umpires added to the full-time major league staff.
