Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Alec Gamboa played in the Los Angeles Dodgers system from 2019 to 2025, then finished the 2025 season with the Lotte Giants of the Korea Baseball Organization, where he went 7-8, 3.58 in 19 starts. He joined the Boston Red Sox as a free agent in December of that year. He made his major league debut with Boston on May 5, 2026 pitching one scoreless inning of relief in a 10-3 win over the Detroit Tigers. He had started the season in AAA with the Worcester Red Sox.

He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 9th round of the 2019 amateur draft. He had to sit out the 2020 season when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the minor leagues, but still managed to pitch at AAA for the Oklahoma City Baseball Club and the Oklahoma City Comets in three different seasons before heading to Korea. He was a Dodgers organizational All-Star in 2021 with the Great Lakes Loons of the High-A Central.
