Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Agustín Ramirez was one of three minor league players acquired by the Miami Marlins from the New York Yankees in return for Jazz Chisholm on July 27, 2024. He made his major league debut with the Fish the following April following injuries to starting catcher Nick Fortes and Rob Brantly, leaving him and rookie Liam Hicks as the only two available catchers on Miami's 40-man roster.
When he made his debut with the Marlins on April 21, 2025, he quickly put his name in the team's record books by becoming the first player in team history to collect five hits over his first two games (he got two in his debut and three the next day). He also reached base in 7 of 8 plate appearances over those two games, both wins. The Marlins were confident enough in his potential that he was already hitting clean-up in his second game.
