		<description><![CDATA[Most strikeouts by an Opening Day starter:  Camilo Pascual, Washington, 1960.  I would not have guessed that.

Pascual beat Boston, 10-1.  The only run he allowed was a solo homer by Ted Williams, entering the last season of his career.  (The &#039;60 Senators were also entering the last season of &lt;i&gt;their&lt;/i&gt; &quot;career&quot; in Washington.)  Williams was one of only two batters in the Boston lineup whom Pascual did not whiff.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[I was looking at the Cardinals&#039; lineups, and noticed they had the exact same lineup in 1967 and 1968.  Wise move by Red Schoendienst.  They ran away with the pennant in both years. Then came the seventies:  Joe Hague at first base three years in a row.  Ted Sizemore and Ray Busse at shortstop!  Mr. Baseball, Bob Uecker was the opening day catcher two years in a row in the sixties.]]></description>
