A few related facts:

*Bob Meusel had only 3 games in his career with 4+ hits and 10+ total bases. Fortunately for his place in the record book, all of those games happened to be cycles. In contrast, Gehrig had 15 games with 4+ H and 10+ TB, 5 games ahead of anyone else's known total. Ruth is currently listed with 7 such games.

*Babe Herman had at least 6 such games, plus any he might have had in 1945.

In the years 1940-51, DiMag had 82 triples and 224 HR; Musial had 127 and 206. Bobby Doerr, Bob Elliott, and Enos Slaughter also had fairly large numbers of triples in the void.
