Thanks for the additional info Oscar Did you happen to notice the fact that Santorini's OWN error allowed his 4 runs to be UNER! He seemed to be a good hitting pitcher. The next year he hits a HR in an EXPANSION BOWL game on the same day his former teammates get no-hit by the CUBBIES!

Still waiting on the 1st contestant to tell me bout Grim - c'mon folks!

I noted a while ago that there is a IP/10 limit for starting pitchers. For any number of IP, only 1 or 2 pitchers have managed to win 1/10 that many games. That is, only 1 or 2 pitchers won 25 games while pitching less than 250 IP. It's true for 150 IP, 210 IP, 350 IP, whatever.

Ok guys - what is Bob Grim's place in baseball lore?

Also - I will repost this here since it has gotten swallowed up - when we were talking bout Deron Johnson's 19-75 thing the other week. Even though it's not quite the same - Ike Delock for the 1960 Red Sox had a winning %age of .474 and an an ERA of 4.74. Anybody else know of an occurence like this? And all zeroes don't count!

Wins aside, do you feel that you're less impressed with some of Pedro's untouchable ERA+'s in the late 90's/early 00's because he went so many less innings than guys like, say, Steve Carlton or Sandy Koufax or Bob Gibson? Or does the sheer quality of his performance outweigh all that?
