The Deans in 1934 pitched 5 of their team's 7 starts...including three in a row, Dizzy in games 5 & 7 and Paul in game 6.

By the way, he is currently the all-time LHP in HRs given up with 491. He's only 14 behind the overall leader, RHP Robin Roberts (who did it in 700 more innings).

I hope he doesn't retire, I want to see him pitch to 50.

Great game by Kenny Rogers in '06. 3rd oldest person (at the time) to start a WS game, throws 8 innings of shut-out ball, allowing 2 hits. Only took him 99 pitches too.

The hardest part about discussing Pedro's age is that he has has always been a lot older than he is chronologically. 38 isn't ancient. But, it sure seems like Pedro is.

Ideally, from a compelling story stand-point, they would each win a game, say Game 1 for NY, Game 4 or 5 for the Phils and then a Game 7 rubber match on short rest. But there's no real way to predict it now.

Otherwise, it's the chance for the Phils to repeat.
