Wes Clements was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 6th round of the 1980 amateur draft, but never made it to the major leagues. He hit 173 home runs and drove in 664 runs during an 11 year minor league career.
In 1989, Clements played for the West Palm Beach Tropics and the Fort Myers Sun Sox of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. Clements combined to bat .229 in 30 games; 7 games were with West Palm Beach and 23 games with Fort Myers.
Clements spent three seasons as the coach at Calabasas High School. In 2007, he joined the Winston-Salem Warthogs as the club's hitting coach. In 2008 he moved up to the Birmingham Barons in the same role. He was named manager of the Lancaster JetHawks for 2009.
