Infielder Kristopher Negron began 2012 at the AAA level.
Negron was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the seventh round of the 2006 amateur draft and made his pro debut that year with the GCL Red Sox. He spent the majority of the next year with the Greenville Drive, stealing 29 bases in 112 games with the club. Splitting 2008 between three different clubs, he hit .265 with 8 home runs and 31 stolen bases.
Negron began 2009 with the Salem Red Sox, hitting .264 with 20 steals in 111 games, before being dealt to the Cincinnati Reds for Alex Gonzalez in August. He spent most of the following year with the Carolina Mudcats and hit .272 with 11 homers and 34 stolen bases in 120 games with the team. He played the entire 2011 campaign with the Louisville Bats and was back with the team to start the next season.
