[edit] Biographical Information

Jack Dunleavy's batting averages are a bit better than they look. In 1903, he hit .249 while the team hit .251. In 1904, he hit .233 on a team that hit .253. In 1905, he hit .241 on a team that hit .248. He hit some triples and stole some bases as well, and his fielding percentage was above average in right field. In 1906, he was replaced in the outfield by 22-year-old Al Burch.

Although 1905 was his last major league season, at age 25 he was still one of the youngest regulars on the team, which had an average age of 28.7.

He was at Amherst College in 1901-02.

He is presumably not related to Bill Dunleavy, a California who played on the West Coast for a decade at the same time as Jack was playing pro ball.
