Infielder Frank Croucher played eleven seasons in professional baseball from 1934 to 1947. He also served three years (1943-1945) in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
Croucher also played four years in the American League, mostly as a shortstop. He was with the Detroit Tigers for three seasons (1939-1941) and he appeared in the 1940 World Series.
Croucher played for five years in the minor leagues before the war, and for two years after. He had a career batting average of .292 in the minor leagues in 576 games.
He died after suffering a heart attack while watching a Houston Astros game on television. He was a lifelong resident of Houston.
