Dave Cripe played seven games in the majors for the Kansas City Royals in 1978, a team which won its division. Cripe, a third baseman, didn't succeed in taking the job away from the regular at that position, George Brett.
Cripe played nine years in the minors, with the heart of his career at Omaha. He hit .300 there in 1978, on a team which also featured Randy Bass.
Cripe managed in the minors from 1982-1986 with a .546 winning percentage.
