Chang allowed 2 hits, 2 walks and 4 unearned runs in 1/3 of an inning in the 2000 Haarlem Baseball Week, going 0-1. In 2003, he was drafted by the Uni-President Lions and he debuted that year, allowing one run in five innings. In 2004, the right-hander had a 3.52 ERA in 7 2/3 IP. He was 3-6 with a 4.37 ERA in 2005. In the 2006 season, Chang was 0-3 with a 5.15 ERA.
The hurler from Taitung City posted a 3-5, 5.26 record in the 2007 CPBL. In 2008, he improved to 6-5, 3.48.
