Mosbach was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 9th round of the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Tom Kotchman made his pro debut that summer playing for Kotchman.
The Philadelphia Phillies selected Mosebach in the 2008 Rule V Draft but returned him to the Angels.
