Artem Palamarchuk is a Ukrainian catcher who attended the MLB European Academy. He had the big hit for Ukraine in the 2007 European Championship. Down 3-1 in the bottom of the 9th against the rival Russian national team, Palamarchuk came up with the bases loaded and two outs. Artem then delivered a 2-run double to tie the game. In the 11th, he hit the game-winning sacrifice fly off future Twins minor leaguer Andrei Lobanov.
Palamarchuk hit .261/.333/.304 in the event, leading the Ukraine in average, slugging and RBI (3). He fell to .222/.241/.222 in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers but tied for the Trnava event lead with 6 RBI.
