Captains games are a great time. -- 2005-03-31

If you like baseball. This is a great place to see a game. Every seat is a great seat. I especially like to sit down the left field line. Its $8 for all bowl seats. And they have a small bleacher & lawn sections for $5 (sold only on game day or when bowl seating sells out.) There are a couple of places to stop before and after the games within walking distance. There is the Captain's Club good for food & drink. And there's Scorchers behind the ballpark to have a beer after games.

    Autographs -- 2004-06-18

In reference to Mr. Bishop's comments, most teams and leagues have policies that state NO autographs during the game, period, end of discussion

Baseball like it should be -- 2004-04-05

Nice park where there really isn't a "bad seat in the house." BUT, you are going to be very close to the field so pay attention. We saw some slick line drive fouls screaming into the stands. This is no place to bring kids that aren't attentive.

Being that this is single A ball, you find yourself rooting for the kids on the field knowing that in all likelyhood, most will never make it to the Majors.

    Stadium Review for 2003 -- 2003-09-20

    Overall Rating: B

    Facility B+

The stadium just opened this year and attendance has been impressive. Plus the team has been red-hot making for many happy fans. Like Aberdeen some of the seating sections are too wide, some in excess of 20 seats. Legroom is restricted and with the cup holders there is even less room then you would want. One person spilled beer on me trying to make his way to his seat. Try walking past eight people with a tray of food and a drink or two.

Another problem is with the large seating bowl. If your seat is down the line you face towards center field so you have to shift your view to home plate.

Limited grass berm seating. The commercial buildings behind the outfield fence tend to distract from the overall ambience.

    Value B

Reasonable value for the tickets. The box seats go for $8 and bleachers for $5. The $4 public parking area across from the stadium is a big rip off. Try driving around for a better deal. One place down from the park offered spaces for $2. It was a hot summer day so we didn’t eat too much. The hot dog rated a #5. Water is $2 and the peanuts are $2.50.

    Atmosphere B+

When we visited it was another large crowd. Many groups were in attendance so the party areas were very busy. The mascot should be redone. The usual on field promotions and the crowd loved every one.

    Odds and Ends

They were selling game used bats in the store. We suggested that they have the players autograph the bats and they could charge more (proceeds went to charity). No umbrellas allowed

Nasty and Rude Usher -- 2003-06-30

My wife & I went to the Friday night game 6/27/03 with Giant Eagle group. We sat in section# 118.This was my first time at the park.We had a wonderful time until around the 6th inning when some little leaugers were trying to get an ball signed from a player. A nasty usher from the next section south of ours was drilling an adult in charge of the kids by the wall. The kids were a very excited but were well behaved. It was a pleasure to see these kids so pumped up about players just starting out.I didn't get this ushers name but he was a distraction to me and the other fans in our area for the remainder of the game. There was an usher in that area already maintaining order.

I would like to continue to support the Captains but if this is way one person treats the fans, his behavior gives a bad impresion of your orgainization as a whole.

Thank you for your time in addressing this matter.

    Lake County Captains -- 2003-05-07

I STRONGLY suggest that anyone who appreciates baseball in it's purist form check out the Lake County Captains. Whether you're taking your family or going with your buddies, you'll have a great time for sure.
