    Nice New Stadium -- 2008-07-16

As the previous commentor stated, for a low A team this is a really nice, brand new stadium. Outside it has a nice clean look with arches, and inside there are great site lines even from the concession stands. The poarch area looked really cool as well. I sat down right behind home plate and had a great view of the game. I didn't get to sample the food, but did try a smoothie that was tasty and interesting in a carved coconut shell. They also have a dog who acts as the batboy which is pretty interesting and fun. The stadium is worth a stop if you are in the area and don't mind seeing low level minor league action. I know the team had undergone a bunch of name changes recently, which is probably very frustrating to home fans, but I like the new logo and stadium. There did not seem to be much to do right around the park, but then again that is not uncommon with minor league stadiums.

    New ballpark in 2005 -- 2005-07-26

Greensboro moved into a new downtown ballpark. It is very nice, especially for a low-A team. I'm guessing that they will probably try to pick up a AA team in the next few years since the stadium is at that level. It seats around 7K-8K with room for expansion, if necessary.

    Enjoy the game! -- 2002-07-10

I have the feeling that this must have been really something when it was built. The seating is circular, rather than angular, in the style of football bowls, and I don't think in its time, any MLB stadiums were constructed that way yet. For its age, I expected something with a more old-style feel, but it somehow seemed refreshingly new, and at the same time very historic and nostalgic. The residential area around the stadium offers all the free on-street parking needed, you'll just need to walk a little further if there is a big crowd ahead of you. Tickets are a bit expensive--$6 for bleacher-type seats with no backrests.

Not my favorite place -- 2001-10-10

This is the only minor league ballpark where the home team players did not toss foul balls hit down the lines into the stands for the kids (big and small). It's old, decaying, and expensive. I spent almost $10 before I ever got into the park, thanks to parking and the cost of a seat - there are newer parks where I spend less and get more. The concessions are easily the worst I've seen anywhere. I know it's low class A, but I've been in moire than a few low Class A parks that are well-kept, clean, and are better priced. If it weren't for the LF bar, this place would be dead.

    Wonderful Old Park -- 2001-06-12

War Memorial was built as a tribute to the veterans of World War I. It still stands virtually unadulterated since its construction. It is situated in a residential neighborhood where fans can walk to games.

You can walk the perimeter of the field and be at ground level to watch a game behind a short concrete wall. The crown of the infield is so pronounced you can barely see first base from third base.

Behind the left field wall, an entrepreneur has constructed a semi enlcose bar where the twenty somethings all congregate. Very little baseball actually gets watched up there.

The park has few amenities, but who cares? It is part of history and narrow concrete walkways and ancient bathrooms are to be expected. The SALY is one of the oldest leagues in the country and War Memorial is a throwback to an earlier time.
