Team Name Changed -- 2007-07-04
Since the 2006 season the Salt Lake team has been named the Salt Lake Bees, a throwback to earlier S.L.C. minor league baseball teams (1915-25, 1958-65). They are the AAA farm team of the L.A. Angels.Bryant Pratt
Raise in prices -- 2005-05-16
Still a great place to take in a game, with a panoramic view of the Wasatch Mountains. I take my six year old daughter about once a month, and have been doing so since she was three, and she loves the place (a "train" circles the walk behind the outfield burm, and during the summer an inflatable "amusement park" goes up beyond left field--maybe she'll become a fan, too. :) However, ticket prices have increased an average of around 50% over last year since Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller took over the team--a discouraging development in itself, since his previous non-basketball venture led to the demise of the Salt Lake Golden Eagles hockey team. He's talking about changing the team's name again, which further confuses an unenthusiastic local population. Don't get me wrong, Larry's a good guy, but his expertise is car sales and the Jazz.
I would recommend parking in the main lot north of the stadium--Franklin Covey sits in the middle of a nasty neighborhood, and it's worth an extra couple of bucks to "protect" your car. There's also less chance of a foul ball nailing your windshield. Our favorite seats are behind home plate, upper deck ($8, but used to be $6, one of the smaller increases.)

This is an absolutely wonderful stadium. If you haven't been here, go now. It is by far the best minor league stadium I have been to. We sat in the 5th row by first base. If I were to go again, I would prefer to sit in the upper deck along the first base line. All seats have a great view of the mountains which make a stunning backstop. Being from Minnesota, mountains are a bit of a novelty for myself. The tickets are very reasonable. I'm not sure about parking as we stayed in a hotel downtown and rode the TRAX which is the public transportation and drops you off a block from the stadium. We didn't try much food, but the beer was about average price wise and the concourses are open and wide, so you can walk around and still enjoy the game. It didn't hurt that we saw a fantastic game up until the home team gave up 5 runs in the 10th to lose 8-3, but this is one of the best places to take in a baseball game. I can't believe how many empty seats there were.

Mascot -- 2001-08-27
The team Mascot is a bore. He has no personality ,no creativity, and is rarely seen. In fact the last 3 games I have only seen him Once.
