We Loved Our Time in Colorado.... -- 2005-04-11

...And the Sky Sox were a huge contributing factor! We lived there from May 98 to June 04 (last summer, when I retired from the Air Force). When I first heard there was a ball team in town, I decided to take my family. I'd never been to a minor league game at any level, and this place just really surprised me with how family friendly the atmosphere was. The game was fun to watch, and the management (led by Rai, who I met the first year there) had entertaining events between innings that totally wiped out any chance we'd be bored sitting there. The kid's club was the best, and Sox the Fox will always have a place in our hearts. The kids love their little Sox the Fox stuffed dolls. Was there ever a real Socko, by the way?

We live in the New Orleans area and one of the first things we did was get tickets for the Sky Sox visiting games. The players were great to us while here, especially Clint Barmes, Mark Crone (a fellow Bronx, New Yorker as we found out through conversations), Brad Haupe and others. We wore our jerseys won at auction for charities the Sky Sox participated in over the years (mine was a Mardi Gras autographed by Edgard Clemente). We asked that they say hi to Rai when they saw him for us.

We have tickets to the May19-22 games (the only meeting of these teams this year) and hope to see you guys have a great series.

Rai, congratulations to you. Continued success with the club. Thanks for everything.

Our planned trips to Colorado will be in the off-season (skiing at Keystone in February-March) but we'll make the short drive down the road to see some friends in the Springs.

I love minor league baseball, thanks to the Sky Sox!

    Great Little Park -- 2005-01-11

Sky Sox Stadium is a great park for folks who like baseball. Every seat has a great view, prices are low, parking is easy, and the staff is great. All that adds up to an environment that allows you to focus on the game itself. No crowds, few lines, and you can afford to go multiple times in a season. It's a great place for baseball.

One small note, sunshine in Colorado can be very intense and every seat is in the sun. So, if youre going to a game while the sun is up (and that's almost every game), be prepared with sun tan lotion or cover up. Otherwise, you could end up with a sunburn or just feel bad overall.

    Great seats everywhere -- 2004-12-09

Sky Sox stadium is a nice small stadium. The best seats in the house are only like $9. The worst seat in the house would be field level seats at any major league stadium and they are only like $5. They have a hot tub you can rent for the game that is down the first base line. The stadium is higher in elevation than Coors field by about 1000 feet. There are usually lots of HRs hit out of this park.

    Sky Sox Stadium -- 2001-03-24

This is a park that doesn't dazzle you at first site but it is a functional park with good sightlines and nice scenery. Staff is friendly and I always bring a radio to listen to the Sky Sox outstanding broadcast team of Dan Karcher and Dick Chase. Always enjoy my visits there, about 15 per season.
