    Must-See Stadium! -- 2008-07-04

Nat Bailey is a must-see stadium. The fact that a few seats are obstructed by poles only adds to the charm. The stadium still boasts a manual scoreboard and wooden bench seats undercover. The 'Nat' has undergone extensive renovations over the past two seasons bringing the grand lady back to life. Recent changes include shortened outfields, new infield soil, an improved warning track, radar gun, new netting and complete paint (concourse, seats and outside). She certainly doesn't look 57 years old!

One of the true treasures of minor league ball. -- 2005-07-04

Recently threatened with the demolition ball to make room for facilities for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the people of Vancouver fought for, and won, the future of the minor league gem that is Nat Bailey Stadium. It's future now certain, the team that inhabits the park, the Vancouver Canadians, have gone to great lengths to make its history available to those who come to the games by filling the concourse with news clippings from over the years, detailing great stories from the history of the stadium, including the day Babe Ruth brought his traveling all-stars to town, when Satchel Paige threw off the mound at an age well past 50, and when a young stringbean speed demon named Sammy Sosa prowled the outfield.

Tickets costs as little as $8, and though there are a few spots in the stand with obscured sightlines due to pylons, it's well worth getting a seat up front and enjoying the action up close. The catcher takes his spot about fifteen feet from the front row, so it's a great way to see things from the hitter's perspective.

On any given day, the parking lot is full of Winnebago's of people who have traveled far and long to see a Canadians game at this beautiful old ballpark, which says a lot for the location, atmopshere, and sheer friendliness of the place. Sure, it could use a lick of paint and a few creature comforts, but for now, a day at the Nat is like going back to small town America in the 50's to enjoy a game of ball.

    Nat Bailey Stadium -- 2001-09-22

I haven't seen this park since they lost the AAA team, so I can't speak to the prices, staff, etc. However, unless something has changed radically this is worth putting on anyone's Vancouver itinerary.

The stadium is beautifully situated, in the middle of Queen Elizabeth Park (climb the hill behind right field for a great view). Parking is free. The seats are about as close as you can get. The AAA crowd wasn't always as knowledgeable as you might hope but was invariably good-natured and pleasant.

Nat Bailey Stadium is one of the best small parks around. It is very warm and pleasant and you can see the mountains while you have a drink and a hot dog. A must for anyone who loves ballparks.
