I took my son to a few Woodchucks games last year (2005). It was a blast! the tickets are cheap, the concesions won't break your wallet and it's a good time. If you don't mind bleacher seats that are similar to a high school ball game you will have a good time. Just bring a cusion for your bottom.

Fun place to watch college athletes -- 2002-05-21

The Woodchucks are college players from across the country (mostly from the Midwest) playing in a short-season, wooden-bat league. I've been to Athletic Park twice and loved it both times. Tickets and concessions are inexpensive. There is free parking on the side streets, but resist the temptation to park in the very available spaces on the street that borders the park to the south. Foul balls hit those cars during the game!

    Nice, small park -- 2001-10-20

It's nice to see baseball is back in Northern Wisconsin. I have never been to a Woodchucks' game, but did attend the last-ever minor league game in Athletic Park, when Wausau was still a Mariners' affiliate in the Midwest League.

The park is cozy, with no seat being a bad seat. While the bleacher seats are anything but luxurious, they are close to the action with unobstructed views of the whole field. Evening games in Wisconsin can get chilly, so bring a warm coat if it's not an afternoon affair.
