Stade Municipale well worth the trip. -- 2005-07-17
I went to two caps games in May of 2005 and I must say it was well worth it. Tickets were 10 dollars CDN for the middle seats and 14 for the first few rows. 14 bucks! It's an easy walk from downtown(along the port of Quebec footpath, which is patrolled by security 24/7, very safe) and the cabbies all know where it is, the bus also stops there. It's also very close to an Autoroute(40 I think.) The team plays from around the last weekend of may to the end of august. The stade itself has a great atmosphere and the team is the best in the Can-Am league this year, with the best attendance (3,000+ for opening night). Don't worry about being an anglophone. My French is pretty lousy and I got by. I'm sure if you spoke no french at all, at the very least you'd eventually get help. There is ample parking, which I think is free. I'd rate the Capitales worth at least a weekly visit if you're in the area, as they're a stellar team in a great park which is inexpensive.
Trois-Rivieres and Stade de Trois Rivieres -- 2005-04-20
The only thing missing in this league is a "natural rival" for Quebec and that would be Trois Rivieres who also have one of the last grand old ball parks of the North East. Trois-Rivieres also has a rich history of baseball in both the original Can-Am league of the 40's and 50's as well as the Eastern League in the 70's, where the likes of Ken Griffey Sr., Ray Knight, Dan Driessen, Joel Youngblood and other members of the Big Red Machine got their starts.

Fenway North -- 2004-10-06
Stade Municipal, built in 1938, is just worth the trip. Now that the Montreal Expos are moving to RFK Stadium, baseball fans in Quebec will now discover what a true ballpark is. All seats are located between first and third bases, with a old-stadium feel that I could compare to Fenway Park - on a smaller scale, of course. Forget about Olympic Stadium and Jarry Park, Stade Municipal is the place to be now ! Andre Dawson played here, by the time the Expos had a farm team in Quebec City, the Quebec Carnavals. The Northeast league might not be top-tier, but for those potentially interested in watching the Quebec Capitales, send me an e-mail. I'd be glad to go watch a game with a baseball die-hard fan.
