    A great experience -- 2001-09-06

This is one of the great places to see minor league baseball. But a couple of caveats. There is precious little parking at the stgadium, but there is a free shuttle-bus from a larger parking lot several blocks away. And, there is virtually no place to eat anywhere in the vicinity of the ball-park or parking lot, so have supper before you arrive. But, the ballpark has outstanding concessions, including corn-on-cob. ermont fans really love this team and the atmosphere of the game-event. I tal;ked to Vermonters who live closer to Montreal than to Burlington---but they prefer THESE Expos.

    Sea Monsters -- 2001-06-17

They do a great job promoting baseball to young kids. They have a great mascot named Champ, the sea 'monster' that lives in nearby Lake Champlain. The kids go to see him and that's where the seeds for baseball are planted. You have to bring a cushion for the cement bleachers. After the game while walking back to your vehicles please be quiet. It's a courtesy to the community right at the stadium. Whenever I'm home for the summer I make it a point to go to every game there I can.

Minor League Trivia Answer -- 2001-06-11

Centennial Field is the oldest stadium in Minor League Ball. Built in 1929. Still a pretty good ball field, but if you sit in the bleachers, bring a cushion. The concrete is hard.

    Friendly Stadium -- 2001-05-23

The stadium has wrap-around bleachers behind the home plate side of the field with wooden reserved seats (the middle two sections behind a screen) in the middle and cement seats down the first and third-base sides.

The people are friendly and there are a number of giveaway nights (Blues Brother's night, cup; bat; ball; magnet and other giveaways, The concessions are beneath the bleachers and offer great pizza (from a local pizza shop).
