Great Ballpark -- 2001-02-19

I live in Jamestown and go to Jammers games whenever I can. It's nice to see these kids (and most are under 20) giving 120% all the time. Russell Diethrick Park (formerly College Stadium)is a great ballpark. It sits adjacent to Jamestown Community College and sitting in the stands you look out upon the college, grounds and the surrounding hills. For the price of a bleacher ticket ($3.00, $2.50 for seniors/children), you can sit on the firstbase (visitor's) side or the thirdbase (home) side and be right on top of the action. During a game it is not unusual to see the fans conversing with the players in the bullpens, and young fans are frequently rewarded with an autographed ball. Buy a program and you have a chance to win a prize - one is given away every half inning. For easy ingress and egress, park at the college lot behind the right field fence - plenty of room, and a very short walk. There is parking right adjacent to the stadium, but you'll wait longer to get out. The park has had many recent improvements and is a great place to spend an evening!
