Beautiful from the highway -- 2004-03-02

If you are from Illinois and expect everyone from Wisconsin to act as if they are bunch of unsophisticated hillbillies who could not be nearly sophisticated enough to provide a quality product and ask a profitable price to enjoy it, then you might not like it.

    A little bit too good? -- 2002-07-10

Something made me keep thinking that Appleton is trying to be a little bit too....something. The stadium is too, well, good. Consequently, the tickets and parking are a little too, umm, expensive. Kinda one-uppy, which I often see throughout Wisconsin. Make things "better", by some standard, rather than more user-friendly. Anyway I got to the ball park at 5-pm, after a full day of steady rain, and there were about 50 cars already setting up their tail-gating parties, game or no game, dammit. I was told it was OK for me to park in that area, even though I was just making a baloney sandwich and eating it in the car to keep dry. Well, the game went on, and nicely, hot-dogs were sold for a buck during a rain delay. It was finally washed out in the seventh, but nobody seemed to care.

Fox Cities Stadium is one of the nicest minor league stadiums that I have ever been to. It has a very relaxing atmosphere and is a great place to watch a ball game. There is a little picnic area where you may sit at a picnic table and eat and also watch the game. I would highly recommend visiting this ballpark.
