Nice to see without the spring crowds -- 2003-05-27

Legends Field is a nice facility inside and out.

Watched a FSL's Tampa Yankees game was able to get seats right behind the dugout an hour before gametime. Everything in the giftshop was 25% off which made the Yankee Stadium prices a little more agreeable. Small crowd (~300 people) made the visit a little more enjoyable as opposed to the throngs of fans during spring training.

Only complaints, would be the lack of beer selection (only Bud & Coors! No thank you.) and the plain concrete building that holds the Yankees offices & luxury boxes. It's so colorless that it kind of takes away from a otherwise great facility.

It was also nice to see some of the players I watched with the SI Yanks.

    Nice -- 2002-05-12

This park is a great minor league and spring training ballpark. It is so much nicer than many other minor league ballparks in the Tampa Bay area.

    "Little" Yankee Stadium -- 2001-07-10

Legends is a great field, very reminiscent of Yankee Stadium, but there are a couple of drawbacks. First, no food or drink allowed in during spring training, which is bizarre since food is perfectly legal to bring to Yankee Stadium proper. Second, you'll have a much better view of the players and a better shot at autographs if you go see the Yanks play at Clearwater or Dunedin. The huge advantage to Legends is when the Yanks warm up and take BP on the practice field south of the stadium - you'll never feel more up close & personal. However, this past spring they mysteriously stopped warming up there after a rumored security incident. Make sure to check out the Cuban sandwich shop out in the left field stands.

Fine facility with adjoining facility for minor leaguers ... great stop for those with a passion for pinstripes
