Thanks for toning down the speakers and paving the gravel parking lot.The speaker system is much better and makes the game more enjoyable.

Thi stadium is home to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC. So you see more than baseball here!

Falconi Field -- 2004-07-22
Nice place to take in a evening game, have a few brews and watch some great baseball. Isn't glitzy with "charm" of the minor leagues..funny how Interstate 70 runs down the 1st base line and the truckers honk, but it's a energetic atmosphere that showcases good baseball. The 90 degree August Sunday games are a bit to handle with no shade, but it's something to do and a place to have fun in WASHINGTON, PA....trust me..if you lived here... you'd know!

Aside from the friendly staff, one of the most acrobatic mascots I have seen in the over 100 parks I have been to

Who is the man of mystery? -- 2003-06-06
Who is Chase Phillips from the Washington Wild Things? I went to one of the games there and he was kind enough to take a picture with me and sign my autograph book as well as many others from the team. Now I've been looking for him to follow up on him and I can't find out anything about him, his stats, position, anything. So I'd appreciate it if someone could please let me know who this man of mystery is... Thank-You!!

Frontier League's Finest -- 2003-01-02
If youre a frontier league fan and are from one of the nearby cities, this is a beautiful place. The person before who commented on the lack of charm is out of their mind. This club is 100% devoted to pleasing the fans, and was voted the organization of the year last season for the FL. Washington is a very small city, consiting of a few malls and a tiny private college (Wash. & Jefferson) -- so there's really nowhere else they could've built Falconi Field and had it work.
It's almost surreal to drive into suburbia -- the Washington Crown Center mall, and the only thing you see is a giant hill, and a little blacktop road. You drive up, and boom -- Falconi Field -- the parking lot as large as the stadium. It's truely unique and certainly isnt without charm.
Not to mention that the players are always there to sign autographs after the game and chat with the fans, they have a nice team store, cheap refreshments, tons of games and giveaways, and great sightlines as well as tons of shots at catching a foul ball -- Falconi Field and the Wild Things are truely giving frustrated Pirates fans the championship treatment.
General Thoughts -- 2002-08-22
I went to an August Sunday afternoon game, and noticed (partly because of the 90-degree heat) that only some 25 of the 3000 or so seats are under any kind of shade. That's painful for some people, at some times. I'm sure evening games are very pleasant.
In general, I was struck by how small the stadium is. I was acclimated to minor league baseball at the Durham Bulls, pre-Costner, and that was a genuine, old, built-into-the-city stadium that had all kinds of charm. There's very little charm to the Wild Things stadium, so unless you are up for an inexpensive outing, are a big baseball fan, or have a friend or relative playing or working for the team, it's not a great draw.
