There is parking at and near the park -- 2008-02-22

The statement in a below comemnt that says that "there is no parking anywhere near the stadium ..." is incorrect. Inside the park there is approximately 200 free parking spots. Across the street on Riverside Drive (100 yards from the front gates) at the Kiwanis Seniors Centre, there is another 225 free parking spots and on the streets surround the park, there is approximately 300 free parking spots. Then at Museum London (300 yards from the front gates), there's approximately another 50 parking spots.

    Labatt Park Love -- 2006-08-25

I was walking down Wilson Avenue in London, Ontario, one night in 1980 with my girlfriend at the time and the gates to Labatt Park were open.

We went in and drank the dozen or so beers we had with us and decided to sleep in one of the team dug outs. Woke up the next morning to the geese and ducks in the park.

A truly memorable experience in LaBatt-LaBall park.

Labatt Memorial Park, London, Ontario -- 2005-02-05

Labatt Memorial Park near the Forks of the Thames River in London, Ontario, Canada, is indeed the World's oldest ballpark in its original location (since the mid 1870s).

The park is owned by The City of London and seats approx. 5,200 fans.

The park was designated as such under the Ontario Heritage Act in 1994, with the "Reasons for Designation" amended in 1996 to recognize, include and protect "The Roy McKay Clubhouse" at Labatt Park, home to the Intercounty League's London Majors Baseball Club.

I am the founder of "The Friends of Labatt Park," a non-profit, volunteer group of citizens whose mandate is to promote and enhance Labatt Park as the world's oldest ballpark in its original location.

    I can be contacted at banddwells@execulink.com or (519) 679-1106.

Wonderfully historic and civilized -- 2001-09-07

American fans will find London quite different from what they are used to. First of all, there is no traffic system there that would move traffic as in a comparably-sized American city, so it's a tiresome drive from 401 through town to the stadium. On the plus side, downtown London (where the stadium is) is a lively, vibrant city at night, with the streets crowded with pedestrians enjoying evening life in a civilized city, even after the game. Feel perfectly safe on the streets at night. This is relevant, because there is no parking anywhere near the stadium, so you will have to park where you can (no problem) several blocks back toward downtown from the stadium, either on the street or in (free) parking lots. Frontier League baseball is probably a little better than the lower "official" leagues because there is no age/experience restriction on the players. Not so much youth/inexperience in the play.

An absolutely gorgeous park that is totally underappreciated by London residents. I've seen a lot of parks since I moved to the U.S., but Labatt Park can hold its own against anything I've seen.

    Labatt Park -- 2001-06-14

I would much rather spend a night playing at Labatts under the lights than under the SkyDome. Awesome park and a great baseball experience.

Most Beautiful Park in Canada! -- 2001-06-05

Labbat Park is beleived to be the oldest continuously used park in the World and it is also one of the most beautiful. If you ever are on your way to or through London, Ontario, make sure you stop by the beautiful ballpark.
