Nice enough -- 2007-07-05
Tickets are now $6 and $8 dollars, which is a bit high for this level of baseball. But concessions are cheap, parking is just $2 and the park is well kept. Also, their fireworks, at least on July 4, were outstanding. This season the team is doing very well and will almost certainly make the playoffs. It's worth the trip if your in the vicinity.Larry Epke
New Name -- 2003-12-23
The Cook County Cheetahs have become the Windy City Thunderbolts. I thought Chicago, not Crestwood, was the Windy City. Oh, well.

Hawkinson Ford Field -- 2003-09-06
I visited this park a couple of years ago, and was surprised to have to pay for parking, as most minor league teams have free or cheap parking. This is an interesting park, part with an upper deck, picnic and group seating. The brats are good, and there is a good beer selection. We went on a busy night, but it appears this team has not enjoyed the success of the Frontier League entries around the St. Louis or Pittsburgh areas.

Cheetahs are a Wonderful Time -- 2003-06-04
A Game at the Cheetahs is a wonderful Experience. Great food, great prices, and a lot of fun for adults and children alike.
Its too bad that the Crestwood Mayor, Chester Stranczyk does not support the team at all. He complains about how attendance is low, but will not help the team bring in people, only complain about it.
You'd think if he was any decent sort of guy, he'd be in the crowd with everyone else. Instead, he'd rather stay in his little office (which is only like 4 blocks from the field) and complain about attendance and wanting to get the Cheetahs out of town because he's not making enough money off of them (He gets $2.00 per car for parking, and that goes directly to the village), instead of trying to help the ballpark which is family fun, he's more greedy with his Quick-Take of land from private owners, so that he can have a casino built in the village, and a strip store nearby so he can make more money. Talk about a Greedy man.
C'mon Chester, get your priorities in order. People with families want a family atmosphere they can take the kids to, not a Casino that's only for adult entertainment.

Fun Times -- 2002-07-02
I went to a Cheetahs game about a year ago. Whie I don't remember too many particulars, I do know it remains in my mind quite an enjoyable time. While you may not find the location ideal, you should find the atmosphere wonderful.

Cheap ball -- 2001-12-05
If you're looking for a low-priced place to take the family to a game, this is it. It's relatively easy to find, right off of I-294 and Cicero Avenue. The quality of the baseball is not high, but all teams are playing at the same level, more or less, so it is competitive. I've been here 3 or 4 times, and enjoyed myself each time.
