Great place to watch a game -- 2005-11-30

Going to a Chillicothe Paints game at VA Memorial Stadium is a wonderful baseball experience. Big enough (1,500-2,500 fans per game) to have the Minor League feel to it, while small enough for easy access and small concession lines. No parking charge, $5-6 tickets, and relatively low food prices make for a good family outing. They have some between-inning entertainment, but it's not too loud or flashy. A 1950s era ballpark in a rural setting makes it pure Americana. A must for baseball fans in Ohio to check out.

    VA Memorial Stadium -- 2003-09-06

This is a nice quaint park, located on the grounds of a 1940s era VA Hospital three or four miles from Chillicothe. The team is very well managed, and has always been competitive. It is the only original Frontier League team from 1993 to be playing in 2003. The park is brick and I was impressed with the comfortable feel of the stadium.

suggestion for fan give aways -- 2002-12-04

we so enjoy the games in the summer, and in addition to the games, we love to enter the drawings. keeping in mind that this is a family activity, I would like to suggest adding a drawing.

on Lady's Night,, one lucky fan could enter the drawing to "Sweep and Seat" for example: If a certain player slides in to home base at a selected inning, the lucky winner gets to borrow the wisk broom from the umpire and "sweep the seat" of the player that scored. There could be many variations on the game and still keep it good clean family fun. Thanks!!!
