April 23, 1947: Purchased by the Chicago White Sox from the Cleveland Indians.

April 30, 1951: Traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Chicago White Sox with Dave Philley to the Philadelphia Athletics. The Philadelphia Athletics sent Paul Lehner to the Chicago White Sox. The Philadelphia Athletics sent Lou Brissie to the Cleveland Indians. The Cleveland Indians sent Minnie Minoso to the Chicago White Sox. The Cleveland Indians sent Ray Murray and Sam Zoldak to the Philadelphia Athletics.

November 20, 1957: Traded by the Kansas City Athletics with Billy Martin, Mickey McDermott, Tom Morgan, Lou Skizas and Tim Thompson to the Detroit Tigers for a player to be named later, Kent Hadley, Frank House, Duke Maas, Jim Small, John Tsitouris and Bill Tuttle. The Detroit Tigers sent Jim McManus (April 3, 1958) to the Kansas City Athletics to complete the trade.
