November 17, 1947: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with Pete Laydon, Joe Ostrowski, Roy Partee, Eddie Pellagrini, Al Widmar and $310,000 to the St. Louis Browns for Jack Kramer and Vern Stephens.

October, 1948: Purchased by the Cleveland Indians from the St. Louis Browns.

November 10, 1948: Drafted by the Philadelphia Athletics from the Cleveland Indians in the 1948 rule 5 draft.

May, 1949: Returned (earlier draft pick) by the Philadelphia Athletics to the Cleveland Indians.

August 11, 1949: Traded by the Cleveland Indians to the Detroit Tigers for players to be named later. The Detroit Tigers sent Lum Harris (October 1, 1949), Anse Moore (October 1, 1949) and George Byam (minors) (October 1, 1949) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.
