December 5, 1978: Traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates with Odell Jones and Mario Mendoza to the Seattle Mariners for Rick Jones, Tom McMillan and Enrique Romo.

December 6, 1979: Traded by the Seattle Mariners with a player to be named later and Rob Pietroburgo (minors) to the Cleveland Indians for Ted Cox. The Seattle Mariners sent Bud Anderson (March 29, 1980) to the Cleveland Indians to complete the trade.

December 9, 1980: Traded by the Cleveland Indians with Gary Alexander, Victor Cruz and Bob Owchinko to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Bert Blyleven and Manny Sanguillen.
