Before 1949 Season: Signed by the New York Yankees as an amateur free agent.

April 5, 1957: Sent by the New York Yankees to the Kansas City Athletics to complete an earlier deal made on February 19, 1957. The New York Yankees sent a player to be named later, Rip Coleman, Milt Graff, Billy Hunter, Mickey McDermott, Tom Morgan and Irv Noren to the Kansas City Athletics for a player to be named later, Wayne Belardi, Art Ditmar, Jack McMahan and Bobby Shantz. The New York Yankees sent Jack Urban (April 5, 1957) to the Kansas City Athletics to complete the trade. The Kansas City Athletics sent Curt Roberts (April 4, 1957) and Clete Boyer (June 4, 1957) to the New York Yankees to complete the trade.

April 8, 1959: Traded by the Kansas City Athletics to the New York Yankees for Mark Freeman. Mark Freeman returned to original team on May 8, 1959.

May 12, 1959: Purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals from the New York Yankees. (Date given is approximate. Exact date is uncertain.)
